There are three main types of loft conversions:
The process is more or less the same for all three types of roof reconstructions. By explaining our process you get a realistic idea of what to expect during your attic reconstruction. We have deliberately kept it simple. Do ask if you have any questions about our process.
Our process is effective
Your construction will be completed fast. No annoying delays. No mistakes. No compromising on standards.
We know how to get building regulations approved first time. We get party wall agreements signed quickly. Should you require planning permission, we obtain it for you.
Health and safety procedures are adhered to
Quality assurance is guaranteed
Your family can benefit from extra new space in as little as 6 weeks
Step 1: Your free inspection and quote
At a time that suits you we will pop round for a chat. We learn what you want us to achieve and a look at your attic. We bring along our gallery of previous projects. You get to see our work and gain some idea of your attic’s potential. We are proud of our reputation and happy for you to request references from our clients.
Step 2: Plan and design your space
A standard contract is signed by both of us. Payment details are clarified in the contract. Our transparent contract protects you and gives you additional peace of mind. On completion of every main stage of work a payment is requested. We do not take the last payment until the entire project is finished to your complete satisfaction. This guarantees that you will be delighted with your roof reconstruction.
Step 3: Construction begins
We put up the scaffolding (which is of course alarmed). From the outside of your roof we make a modest entrance into your attic. We use this opening (which is closed and secured overnight) to carry out the majority of our work. Your roof will have this opening for around 4 weeks. Materials will start to arrive and we fit your new floor joist.

Step 5: The end is in sight
It’s now time for windows to be fitted. Electric cables are laid. Lights and sockets are installed. Internal rooms are divided and plastered. Flooring goes down. Doors and frames go up. External work is finished. Your construction is fireproofed. We check guttering.

Completion Certificate and Part P Certificate are issued
Unfortunately it’s now time for us to part company. You can personalise and move into your stunning new room. When family and friends admire your home’s latest addition; we’d be grateful if you’d give Clapham Lofts a mention.
Although we are leaving you; your attic extension is fully covered under our 10 year guarantee
